Key Responsibilities:
Support/lead the shaping and influencing of decisions by policymakers and lawmakers for the benefit of J&J’s customers and businesses in Canada.
This will involve monitoring the external environment, providing valuable insight to the business, and developing strategies, position papers and messaging to support business objectives.
The position also manages the Johnson & Johnson enterprise lobbying registration process and leads the J&J political compliance work in Canada.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
University/Bachelors degree required. A degree in health sciences and/or political science preferred.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
A minimum of 8 years of professional work experience.
Knowledge of the Canadian government & healthcare environment.
Experience working with government systems, policy issues (healthcare policy is preferred).
Strong analytical capabilities in the context of government policy in order to gain insights to drive business results.
A proven record of success in innovative approaches to policy issues and in working with cross functional teams.
Experience in representing organizational perspectives with Government leaders.
Experience in coalition-building and external representation.
Experience in influencing within a corporate environment.
Proven capability of working in a highly matrixed environment.
Strong interpersonal, presentation, communication skills, with a heavy emphasis on writing skills.
Ability to communicate complex messages to a diverse audience.
Candidate must be a self-starter with exceptional initiative and ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
Excellent influencing skills.
