We are currently looking for a Senior Communications Advisor to join the Provincial Council for Maternal and Child Health (PCMCH). In this role, you will serve as a content creator and brand ambassador to ensure that the quality improvement and policy work of PCMCH affects positive change in perinatal, newborn and child health across Ontario. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced communications professional to draw on a diverse skillset to make a meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with program managers to create and edit communications and knowledge translation tools including reports, presentations, articles, fact sheets, website and social media content, and other external communications
Advance PCMCH¿s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion through implementation of related strategies and meaningful community engagement
Lead the design and creation of annual reports, newsletters, videos and other engaging content geared towards different audiences
Manage PCMCH website and social media channels
Ensure the consistent application of a coherent brand identity with professional look and feel
Provide guidance and support for successful execution of large events such as conferences and webinars
Cultivate relationships with variety of internal and external partners to enhance PCMCH¿s reach and impact
Monitor traditional and social media, and maintain current understanding of government priorities, legislative and regulatory changes, and external initiatives that impact the perinatal and child health sector
Provide communication support on emerging and sensitive issues to the Executive Director
Desired Qualifications:
Degree/diploma or relevant experience in Communications, Journalism, or related field.
A minimum of 3-5 years of communications experience, preferably in healthcare
Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills, with the ability to use plain language to communicate complex technical and medical information to different audiences
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion
Ability to interact comfortably in highly specialized environments, and translate technical and clinical information for different audiences
Experience managing and creating content using WordPress and MailChimp
Comfort designing graphics and banners for presentations, social media and web content
Experience managing corporate social media accounts and using Google Analytics
Strategic thinking and sound judgement
Demonstrated ability to be highly organized and detail oriented to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment
