CIBC's Consumer Insights team engages and consults with internal partners to inform business decisions by providing client and employee insights, which inform strategy. Our team's mandate is to create competitive advantage for CIBC by leading a centre of excellence for consumer insights and acting as a
forward-looking strategic partner. We enable all strategic business units make banking easy, personalized, and flexible for our clients and employees by leveraging actionable insights sourced from primary, secondary, and syndicated data.

The Senior Director, Consumer Insights is a strategic partner with CIBC business units and the enterprise who uses consumer insights to guide and influence business strategy and decisions.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you’ll succeed

Contribute to the creation of a client centric culture, by translating data to insights, and to strategy and growth.
Market Research - Lead a team of analytical experts to uncover the perspective of the marketplace and consumer needs, behaviour and attitudes and to synthesize insights, information and market intelligence from many different primary, syndicated, and secondary research sources.
Be an expert in understanding new and innovative research methodologies and sources, to enable deep understanding of current consumer behaviour, to anticipate future behaviour and to improve the quality of insight data.
Champion the use of market research for addressing business opportunities, by working with business units to understand their needs.
Relationship Management - As a trusted partner, develop and maintain effective relationships with senior leaders across the bank.
Maintain strong working relationships with external vendors, leveraging their strategic capabilities, to maximize performance and continuously look for improvement opportunities.
Strategic Thought Partnership - Ensure research and insights align with CIBC’s strategic goals and priorities and competitive needs.
Leverage data and insights to be able to co-create insights-based strategy with business leaders.
People Management - Provide strong leadership and effective management of team, to increase employee commitment to the organization, develop a high performing team, and allow team members to excel in their job responsibilities.

You can demonstrate significant experience leading a Consumer Insights function that has influenced organizational growth.
You have highly developed knowledge of market research principles.
