Director of Development and Initiatives, Internal Audit

Role Description

Are you a change champion with strong program management capabilities? Do you thrive on delivering data driven insights and continuous improvement recommendations?

The Director of Development and Initiatives reports directly into the VP, Professional Practices & Operations, and will work closely with global team members within Internal Audit to optimize strategy into execution. You are responsible for portfolio program management of various strategic initiatives, in addition to being a subject matter expert within specific initiatives.

A day in the life of this role:

Accountable to develop an integrated and collaborative portfolio view, including the coordination of workstreams.
Measure and provide insights and analysis for the key performance indicators (KPIs) against Internal Audit’s business goals.
Monitor benefits realization from a program perspective.
Build strong relationships with sponsors and team leads globally, across all Lifeco regions.
Lead and mentor initiative teams so that they have the resources and skills required to be successful within each workstream.
Develop and communicate progress of the goals transparently in townhalls and at working group meetings.
Perform and support digital adoption, data analysis and automation of key processes to optimize operations.
    Qualifications and competencies you will bring to this role:

You have 8-10 years in financial services, with a minimum of 5 years of program delivery, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership role
Demonstrated experience implementing and driving change in complex organizational structures
Business degree, Agile Training, Scrum Certificate and Product Owner Training, PMP (Project Management Professional) certificate are preferred
You have experience solving business problems and process improvements using data and automation
Proven ability to articulate and communicate complex topics effectively
Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills
Ability to think strategically while also diving deep into the details when necessary.
