ArcelorMittal Infrastructure or Mining Canada is seeking a Senior Advisor, Decarbonization, who will report to the Engineering Directorate and be responsible for supporting all decarbonization efforts across the program. He will be the point of contact for all decarbonization requests and will be responsible for the assessment, adoption and installation of technologies to achieve carbon reduction targets. In addition, they will have to contribute to shaping the decarbonization strategy thanks to their expertise and their proximity to technology.
Main responsibilities
Provide expert opinion on all decarbonization matters under the direction of the Engineering Management Manager;
Support and collaborate to achieve our decarbonization objectives through a portfolio of projects (flotation method, pyrolysis, biofuels);
Identify and pursue new business project opportunities (as identified by the management team), meet with clients and prepare studies and projects;
Lead or assist project teams in the development of new business and new projects;
Evaluate and analyze energy source/storage technologies, products and suppliers and assist customers in the selection and implementation of technology and suppliers;
Support the project team in identifying, defining and implementing bioenergy use cases;
Develop written technical reports that effectively convey bioenergy concepts, use cases and feasibility study results to various types of audiences;
Lead, collaborate and supervise multidisciplinary project teams to ensure the satisfaction of project managers throughout the program;
Provide technical assistance during technical meetings, project presentations and negotiations;
Review quality assurance of concept drawings, engineering design plans, technical specifications, cost estimates and project construction documents;
Provide technical inputs and assumptions for bioenergy and carbon market models to accurately characterize expected outcomes;
Develop organizational capabilities to support project objectives.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering or any equivalent experience;
A minimum of 10 years of experience in the design, development or implementation of renewable energy sources in an industrial context;
Experience working with biofuels and/or other renewable energy sources;
Understanding of bioenergy technologies as well as the integration of these systems into traditional electricity production and renewable energy production facilities;
Written and verbal communication skills for a wide range of audiences;
Ability to effectively support several complex and urgent projects;
Technical knowledge to analyze and interpret technical data and documents related to bioenergy systems;
Motivated and team player;
Demonstrated leadership and management skills;
Excellent communication skills in English and French.
