Overview of the Expertise Listing or Job Posting
The Community Engagement Advisor is responsible for increasing adoption of GS1 Canada Standards and Industry Managed Services (IMS) to enable trade readiness for new micro and small enterprises (MSE). The successful candidate will identify opportunities to promote, educate and support the MSE segment while engaging with data providers, data recipients, associations, academia and incubators. This role is a key contributor to delivering critical mass adoption and delivering data integrity by enabling data providers of all size to implement the IMS required to meet business requirements of existing and potential trading partners and marketplaces.
Key metrics for this role may include cost recovery targets, number of new subscribers, retention, service adoption, campaign effectiveness, CRM updates and overall engagement with identified stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Understand new potential subscriber needs and requirements to support the new and exciting adoption of global standards and Industry Managed Services (IMS) to enable micro and small enterprises (MSE) to be ready for trade
Collaborate inter-departmentally to achieve multi-sector board deliverables
Contact and build relationships with specific business process users within target data providers to convey value, features, and benefits of GS1 Canada’s IMS to ensure they understand their Trading Partner’s requirements
Cross-promote all IMS and share information relating to GS1 Canada standards and IMS, their value and pricing, their inter-dependencies, and handle objections to meet cost recovery targets
Accountable for new subscriber growth in the MSE segment and usage of Industry Managed Solutions
Use business process and service knowledge to influence industry adoption of specific IMS based on specific project objectives
Educate and support micro and small enterprises in understand the value proposition including timelines, and work efforts to complete the requirements of trading partners
Deliver presentations and training sessions to a diverse group of external stakeholders
Contribute to reporting of project deliverables for leadership meetings and updates.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
College Diploma/Degree in a related field preferred (i.e., Business, Retail Commerce, Supply Chain Management)
Minimum of 2-3 year’s work experience, preferably in a customer service, account management and/administrative capacity within the supply chain industry
Strong interpersonal skills, exhibiting a consistent, positive, and approachable manner
Bilingual (French/English) language skills are required based on communicating with subscribers across the country.
Strong presentation skills to deliver briefings and reports, conduct training sessions, present information to external stakeholders, and comfort speaking before an audience.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to set priorities and manage many projects simultaneously
Entrepreneurial spirit suited for past-paced, results-based environment, requiring flexibility to ever-changing needs
