All Canada-based independent consultants with 20+ years experience in any business function, seniority level, and industry are welcome to apply. Many of our experts have extensive consulting experience, in addition to working inside companies. However, consulting experience is not required —your knowledge is what matters. If you’ve been working in companies and are new to consulting, we can help with some guidance to get started consulting or freelancing.

Our platform fees are only applied when you are paid for work by a client through Elderberry.work. As we build trust with our clients about the quality and results our consultants collectively deliver, we expect to see incremental consulting opportunities. Our partnership with the WIL Group provides us with an international network of independent executive recruiters that spans about 40 countries and 8,000 consultants. We collaborate with them on trans-border placements.
This provides potential opportunities for Canadian-based consultants in 2 ways:
- as the temporary “boots on the ground” here for foreign companies doing business in Canada.
- for consultants with proven international experience, by providing guidance to Canadian-based companies for international markets that you have experience in.

We are selective about which consultants join our platform. We invite consultants to apply who:
- Have a track record of material results commensurate with your seniority level and functional experience, and can translate it well to our target businesses’ size and stage of growth
- Can point to strong contribution and learning from commercialization and growth and/or performance improvement, optimization, productivity, transformation, restructuring, turnarounds
- Have 20+ years of relevant business experience
- Experience working in companies, in addition to any consulting experience you may have
- Especially welcome if you add depth to our offering – i.e. key functional areas, seniority levels, industries, and countries
- Have demonstratable thought leadership
